Beloved Star Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones said in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, like:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His film credits are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
