Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four Grand Slams this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments in 2025 because of a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was due to play in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to regain her health prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

These plans will include her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the final set in the match with Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Those results meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

She secured twenty-eight matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route prior to a loss in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled in the coming months.

She mentioned that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
