Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
Authorities have asked individuals with information to contact the relevant police force.
