Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

The Serious Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

List of Offences

Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities have asked individuals with information to contact the relevant police force.
