The City boss confessed experiencing "embarrassment" after an exchange with a TV crew member subsequent to Manchester City's 2-1 defeat away to the Magpies this past weekend.

City were unhappy that the officials did not award City a penalty for a Fabian Schär challenge against Foden, and doubted if Guimarães was offside when Harvey Barnes scored Newcastle’s 70th-minute winner. Subsequent images indicate the Brazilian was onside.

Upcoming Milestone

Guardiola will take charge of his 100th Champions League game versus Leverkusen this week. "It’s quite good, it means that every season annually," he commented.

The club has ten points from four matches in the group, and Leverkusen hold five.
