Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics
The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.
During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.
“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.
“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”
Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these right after taking office.
“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.
“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”
The party, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.
Nonetheless, his comments indicated the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, years to turn this around.”
Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.
Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”
Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.
The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.
Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.
Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.
During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”
The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
