Arne Slot acknowledged that it was expected for questions to be raised about his future after a further heavy defeat against the Dutch champions.

Liverpool endured their 9th loss in twelve games, marking the club's poorest run after being demoted in 1953-54.

“I feel secure, things are alright, I have got a lot of support from management,” the coach remarked.

“It would be nice to reverse this trend and earn three points naturally but if you are coaching a team and struggling then it is normal that people question you.”

He continued, “I'm comfortable with my situation. This isn't the initial instance I've found myself in a tough spot but it's crucial that we improved our results.”

Upon being questioned to expand on his conversations with the team officials, Slot said:

“We talk a lot. They are helpful for the squad and for me and those talks happen but they don’t call me every single minute of the day to say they trust me.”

He further stated, “During our regular conversations we have I perceive the belief. But I haven’t spoken to them since this game so far so we'll see.”

Recurring Problems and Squad Reaction

The manager lamented known failings from his Liverpool side in their European loss, specifically missed opportunities and leaking goals.

Meanwhile, player Curtis Jones was blunter in his assessment of the team's situation.

“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I don’t. I’m saying that to everyone,” the midfielder remarked.

Jones stated, “However we continue to wear that badge on our shirts. And as long as it is taken away, we’re always going to battle.”

“We will attempt to help the side return to the top, demonstrate to all again what this club is about and why people call it the greatest side in the planet.”
